New LEP bid - but no bids to Regional Growth Fund
New LEP bid
Devon and Somerset are on the point of agreeing a new bid to form a local enterprise partnership (LEP), according to a report in Regeneration & Renewal.
Both councils had their individual bids rejected by ministers in the first round of LEP proposals, but have followed advice to increase the size of the area covered.
If approved, this would be only the third bid from the south west region to be accepted.
Local Growth Fund
Regeneration & Renewal also reports that the £1.4 billion Regional Growth Fund has yet to receive any bids.
The fund, announced in last October’s Local Growth white paper, is open to bids from private sector and joint private and public sector partnerships, including private sector-led LEPs.
The deadline for bids is Friday 21 January.
